Born Michelle LaVaughn Robinson on January 17, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois,Michelle would become the 44th first lady of the United States.
It is at her time in Harvard Law School that Michelle began to participate in activities related to bringing attention to minority students and professors on the campus.
In 1989 she started working as an associate in the company where she met her future husband, Barack Obama. They would quickly start dating and marry in the fall of 1992. Their kids Malia and Sasha were born in 1998 and 2001.
When Barack Obama was elected president in 2009, Michelle took the role of first lady. During re-election season in 2012, Michelle was prominent in campaigning and helping her husband win his re-election. As a fist lady, Michelle focused her attention on promoting healthy and organic eating in the country, decreasing child obesity, and helping the homeless.
